What's left of green

This was made using a picture from Mata Atlântica as reference. For those who don't know, Mata Atlântica is a rainforest that once occupied a good part of the Brazilian coast and is now mostly devastated.

I love painting trees because I of course love them, but as an architect speaking (student!) I just always thought that no matter what we do or create in this world, we can never reach the level of beauty of a tree, and nature does it all the time. Kind of mock us, in a way. But then, that's my thought (:

As a painter, on the other hand, I think it's safe to say that at least we get closer to it, closer to remembrance.
